Nana patekar was at his peak and was getting costlier for normal hindi producers to touch. All badly needed some alternative. A young GSB of belgaum origin- Marathi stage artist took charge. Movie was Vikram Bhatt's FAREB... A run away HIT in 1996!! MILIND GUNAJI -the Rising Star...
The actor was later called as "Gareeebon ka Nana Patekar" due to his mindblowing performance as CUNNING Police Inspector Indrajeet Saxena and also resemblance of Nana patekar!!. Even before this he had acted in Sai Paranjape's "Papiha", which was duly noticed by Govind Nihalani. Hence, he is a product of Govind Nihalani school of acting-- "Drohakaal". It was such a miniscule role, I doubt IF milind himslef noticed it or not..:P .. One of the most memorable scenes involved Milind. When gunaji is asked to dispose of Naseerudin Shah body. He lays down the body by a destered road covers it and salutes. With out any Background music and JUST SILENCE to speak for itslef , Milind acted brilliantly.
With Fareb the whole world started noticing this handsomehunk.. Aanhkehn jhuki/kamar sar bhi jhuka iske saamne.... Fareb was as usual with all oder vikram bhatt movies :P was just a remake of UNLAWFUL ENTRY... He did better than what hollywood staa "Ray Liotta" did in the original!!! :D Nonetheless, the ONLY Star associated with FAREB who STILL manages to bag some roles is- Milind...
Most of the time he is in Police uniform or army uniform. The countless such movies made people say " Arre isko toh ab sacchi police ka naukri ab milna chahiye!!!" :D He had tough time breaking his NANA image!! Sanjay Bhansali came to his rescue. Movie was Devdas. He acted as Paro's Jamai..:D His fans still hate Mads "chandramukhi" dikshit for the tight slap she giveshim at the end of Dola re dola song... "AB TAMASHA KHATAM HUVA" she said.... she was very wrong. It had opened new avenues for Milind gunaji. HE turned a Author, Anchor, Music video Star, A Model for advertisements .!!!
Born on July 23rd, he shares a Huge cake wid Daniel Radcliffe, Himesh reshammiya, Tamil actor Surya, Chandrashekar azad. Now you knwo the reason for his brillaint screen performances rite.. :P Did his schooling with marathi medium school "Navajeevan Vidya mandir " in Queen of suburb - Bandra east. This vivid trekker is a qualified engineer. His trekking experiences actually make him HOST most exciting travelogues show on TV--"BHATKANTI" I had a sneak preview of "Mazi Mulukhgiri"- a book authored by Milind on places in and around maharastra. Though it shows his inexperience in writing, he has done a good research on Trekking spots/nice sceneries- a commendable job.!! He is happily married to Rani Gunaji.
Acted in around 60 movies. A very regular in Nihalani mvoies with amazing screen presnece this chap has redeemed his acting skills!! to name a few Hazaar chaurasi ki maa, God mother,LOC -Kargil, Phir herapheri etc. He was Popular in MTV circuit with " AIKA DAJEEBA" and "HELLLLO, MEE BAABURAO BOLTOY!!" videos. He continues to grace many Hoardings in and around major indian cities with many ads. currently he is a the brand ambassadors for some cotton shirts too...:D
Well , if any Director worth his salt makes to a good movie on "PARASHURAM", with talented actors of theaterical background, I M SURE Milind will find a place as Sahasrarjuna/jamdagni etc if nto Parashuram...!!! One helluva talented/modest guy, more can be expected of this chap... "hooo, aaikre dajiba, khare boltoy mee" :D
